Gilgeori toast (길거리 토스트), the famous ‘street sandwich’ we tried in Korea. A typical breakfast that you can now make at home.

- 2 slices of bread
- 30g butter
- 2 slices of cooked ham
- 1 slice of cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of ketchup
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
For the omelette
- 2 eggs
- 15 g of cabbage
- 5 g of carrot
- 5 g of chives
- 2 pinches of salt
Step by step
- 1 Julienne the cabbage, carrot and spring onion. Add the eggs and the salt. Mix it.
- 2 Toast the bread in a frying pan with butter until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
- 3 Pour the egg and vegetable mixture into the pan. While it is cooking, shape the omelette into a square so that it fits with the bread.
- 4 Place cheddar cheese on top of the omelette so that it melts.
- 5 Brown the cooked ham in the same pan.
- 6 Assemble the sandwich: bread - sugar - ketchup - mayonnaise - omelette - cheese - ham - mayonnaise - ketchup - sugar - bread.
